Fundraising & Your Volunteer Hours

There are many opportunities and NEW this year - all positions can be found on our website under the "VOLUNTEER" tab.

Intermediate, Juniors and Seniors - 15 Volunteer Hours Required or a $150 “buy out”

Subsequent children enrolled in any skating program = 3 additional hours of volunteer time or a $50 “buy out”

Notes:- If a family wishes not to participate in volunteer hours, they may "buy out” of the program and submit their payment with their registration payment, at which time their name will be removed from the "volunteer call list"

Note: Volunteer tracking is the responsibility of the individual families and must be signed off on by a member of the executive.

Music

It is important that all skaters have the opportunity to skate to their music, including solo, artistic, skills, and dance. Please show all skaters at all levels the same respect regarding their music. Please note that session specific music, and students in lesson will take priority.

If parents are at the arena, it is always greatly appreciated by the coaches, and skaters if someone can play the music; this helps ensure everyone gets their music on. Just ask the coaches how you can help. Great way to earn volunteer hours as well.

Communication

All communication will be sent to parents/skaters via email. This includes all newsletters, special event notices, and general club communication. In an effort to do our part for the environment, we are going green. Therefore paper copies will not be given out.
It is the parents’ responsibility to share the information with their child. If your child wishes to receive notifications at their own email address as well, please provide their email address to the club at meafordskatingclub@gmail.com.The Meaford Skating Club can also be found on Facebook and Instragram.

Who do I talk to about concerns with the program?

If you have any concerns with your skaters progress or any other element of the program please feel free to talk with any member of the Executive or your child’s coach.

Our club has an email address for all inquiries, please feel free to contact us at any time.

meafordskatingclub@gmail.com

Our Club President will run a parent meeting on Tuesday October 13, 2026 and Wednesday October 14, 2026 where each StarSkate family will receive a Handbook and any questions can be answered as well.

Looking forward to seeing you at the rink!
